ELECTROMYOGRAPHY/ELECTRONEUROGRAPHY

What it is for?

It is very useful for ascertaining the extent of an injury or lesion and whether the problem is located in the hand, arm, leg, face, etc., or is more widespread and extensive. It also shows whether the disease affects the muscles, nerves, motor end plate, cervical, dorsal or lumbosacral roots or the medulla. The EMG/ENG is very frequently requested by traumatologists, neurosurgeons, neurologists, physical therapists, internists, paediatricians etc. for patients reporting weakness or loss of strength with local or widespread pain, tingling or numbness in different parts of the body, muscle cramp or loss of muscle mass.

SOMATOSENSORIAL EVOKED POTENTIALS
